So I am so confused right now. I pre-ordered Sims 4 University. I get an automatic critical download for my base game that now all of a sudden makes my game unplayable so I have to download the Legacy Edition. Now, I FINALLY download the new content to be told now that, even though the update launched yesterday, Sims 4 University will not be playable on that platform???
Someone tell me that this is not real right now. Somebody...Anybody!

Are you sure you need the legacy version ? Are you on PC or Mac ?

I bought the Sims 4 University, but it won't let me download it. It's telling me i need to download the base game first, which i I already have. Can anyone help me? I need to play!
Is there the chance that you have an older Mac or 32-bit PC and you need the Legacy version of the game? If so, you'll have to install that
If you run the Legacy edition of the Sims 4 the Discover University does not work with it.
Unfortunately I had this problem too - This was due to my Mac not having the OS: Metal to run.
Therefore, i've had to download the new legacy update (Which seems very limited as you can't access the gallery and no further updates/expansions for us!) - Unless we upgrade PC's/Mac's - For those who have been playing the sims for years with various expansion packs - I feel let down by EA, as I've been looking forward to this expansion pack!
I did speak to EA, and get a full refund for the cost of the pack (there is a limited time to claim a refund)
Hello! This is just a thought and just to blow a little steam off... The Sims 4 got a new update and now I will not be able to play Discover University because my Mac desktop is too old to play the new and updated sims. I will now have to download "Legacy Edition" and that means I will not be able to play Discover University! It just got me angry and I was very interested in purchasing this pack.
What do you all think about the new changes?

So recently I had downloaded the Legacy Edition to my sims 4 game because my lap top is old I guess even though I had just bought it... and I had just bought the Discover University pack and it isn't showing up in-game. Does the Legacy edition stop me from purchasing and play new expansion packs? Every pack I bought before I downloaded the Legacy edition is on there but the Discover University isn't. Is there a solution to this? I only tried resetting the apps and everything, nothing worked so far. Help please.
@enigmaticera Discover University doesn't run in the Legacy Edition of Sims 4. But depending on the specs of your computer, you may have been told to download the LE when it wasn't necessary. Does your computer run Windows or macOS? If Windows, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post here.

I really want to play university but I think I won't be able to play it with legacy.
will legacy be updated so I can maybe play newer packs or do I need to get a newer computer for that, I hope I will be able to play university one day cause I have been waiting for something like this for ages so I'm kinda disappointed that I can't play it. I hope you can update legacy
another issue is that I can't start my game anymore after installing legacy is there anyway I cloud fix this?
No, the Legacy edition will not be able to run Discover University or any future packs. It will only receive bug fixes. So if you are not able to run in 64 bit there is only the option of buying a new computer. Does anyone know if you have already purchased the university expansion pack will it transfer onto the legacy edition?
@misty555xxx All earlier packs will transfer between the standard version and the Legacy Edition. But Discover University doesn't run in the LE at all. (Future packs won't either.) So even if you download University, you won't be able to see it in the LE.
I just recently purchased a Sims 4 bundle. One of the packs I purchased was Discover University. I was not aware that this expansion pack was not available on my computer type. I have an iMac OS X Yosemite. I’ve searched everywhere to see how I can fix this problem but I haven’t been able to really find anything. I also can’t find any way to contact anyone either. It’s becoming quite frustrating as I paid quite a bit of money for me to not be able to play.... Am I able to get any kind of refund or trade or anything???
