Ask to hangout, but won't come in house

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm just not doing something right.  My household is in Sulani, Ohan'ali town, and one of the sims is a vampire.  Sometimes all the people she knows happen to be in the neighborhood wandering so I can't call to invite to hangout from the social menu.  If I can safely get her out during the day with an umbrella or the sunlight reversal drink, to ask a sim to hangout they say sure, but there is no invite inside option even if they are on or very near my lot.  If I select inside the house the chat here option she'll proceed to walk inside, but the other sim who agreed to hangout gives a can't path bubble and the action is cancelled, then they leave because there's nothing outside my house for them to do.  I'm almost sure once in awhile they can come in, but maybe its because they are a best friend and so are always welcome?  How do I get a stranger walking by my house to come in?

    Well, if they are in my neighborhood walking around that is not an option given.

    Thanks, thats what I had to do.   So is that a bug you think? Or just unintentional program.

    Just Sims being Sims When invited to hang out while just passing by they tend to stay outside. One thing you can do to get them inside is to "Call to meal" and include guests.

    If your sim doesn’t have the munchies, you can also use indoor objects with group activity actions. Games (e.g., chess, card table, video game console) are good options - they’re fun and you can work on skills while socializing!  There can be negative side effects from eating sometimes (e.g., rapid weight gain if your sim isn’t hungry or rather overwhelming nausea with vegetarian trait or vampires with shriveled stomachs), so it’s good to have an alternative. I think you can also select a couch and choose the option to sit and chat on that object.

    You might also confirm your doors haven’t been set to lock out non-household members.
