EA Block the Advertisement Spam

Not sure what you are seeing as pop up ads. 
Can you give an example? A screenshot perhaps?
What are you using to play console, PC or Mac?
Are you talking about Sims 4?
Unless I am totally misunderstanding I play Sims 4 on PC and do not have any ads.

@EuphorialQueenThe reason you are not seeing these in game popup adverts is probably due to the fact you have all the sims 4 DLC to date.

These intrusive adverts appear at startup,  which in turn, locks the game until click to dismiss. Its really annoying, if I want to purchase additional packs, then I will visit the store, but I don't want to be nagged everytime the game loads.  

There should be a way to disable these in game adverts.

I haven’t noticed pop up ads either.

I play on a Mac, so I paid for the game upfront and load it using the origin app (as opposed to subscribing to origin access). The default home screen for the origin app was the EA store where other EA games were advertised. I didn’t find that particularly intrusive, but I also manually changed the home screen to show my game library when I open the app so now I don’t see any ads unless I look for them. it doesn’t sound like what @Eeekey experiences, so you can prob rule out this particular configuration.

I do get the frustration you guys feel. I have a fitbit, which was a gift but still had to be paid for, and the app is constantly trying to get me to subscribe to premium features. It drives me nuts.

@Eeekey  After much searching (and bugging a few friends) I think I figured out what you are seeing.  If it is then you should only see these popups when changes have been made to your files in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 game folder.
Is the popup like this except the option to buy?



By playing and testing a lot of game issues I frequently reset my folder to let the game create new ones and (for me) keep them fresh and current.
When I do that the popups appear for every pack owned or not. Once I click thru them I do not have to do it again unless I reset my game folder again.
There is a setting on your account file at the EA site that may help eliminate them.
Login at ea.com > Account Settings > Privacy Settings > disable Targeted Advertising by checking the top two boxes.




Please give this a try to see if it helps.

@EuphorialQueenChanging those settings doesn't make any difference whatsoever.  The adverts still display upon game launch and if you mistakenly click the buy now button it automatically puts the item into the cart and doesn't just take you to the store in order to view the product.   I believe the promoted items are not even discounted nor on sale!! 😮  

This type of marketing Its rude and aggressive.   Its the principle not be bombarded with sales pitch which locks the game until it as been acknowledged?   

I do not know if this happens with console or mac version, but certainly if you do not own certain packs on the pc, then the adverts will be generated.

Surely there is an ingame option to block this intrusive marketing ploy?

Do you have an Origin Access account? I am still trying to find a solution and need as much information as possible to help.
