Frogs!

I'm highly amused at the Frog scenario.

I might have to play this one, too.  😉

(Although, honestly, I play with frogs a lot; my Super Sim has finished the frog collection, and they're a staple for my broke vampires. I suspect the only thing I've never done is make the frog hot pot, which my friend says is a frequent feature in her rags to riches play.)

  • Nice job completing the Frog collection, that one's still on my list, I feel like there's always something else im trying to do, but i keep randomly breeding them and ... well occassionally making them into tasty juice >_> hahaha.

Yeah, my poor vampires are forever breeding frogs for plasma packs. (My rich vampires just buy them in ten packs.)

I like to have 3 varieties on hand at all time, so when they're REALLY thirsty... i can queue 3 drinks up.

I've actually never tried a scenario but you are piquing my interest.

Pick one that sounds fun! preferably one that's not also something you always do.

The PlantSim one was right up my alley because it was mostly gardening, but with a PlantSim (which I hardly ever do). And I really enjoyed the Supervillain one.

I'd probably do this one with a hippy chick who lives off the grid, yeah...

Alrighty here goes, im headed into the Plant Sim challenge with my version of the hippy chick :P

Botanist Aspiration with Cheerful, Vegetarian, Music Lover who enjoys Painting, Gardening, Mixology and Handiness all while listening to the Blues or Americana.

Thanks for the Inspiration @xochiquetzl_xkvn  🙂

"The land brought forth frogs! Frogs!"

So, this was fun! but I did make a couple of mistakes, LOL. The first one was that I decided it would be fun to use my "cheap starter for skills" lot, which is basically a tent and a picnic table and a camping shower and a cooler, and a bush, and four tiles under the tent to make it a micro home.  Also it's off the grid. Great idea! except that, um, I put it in Brindleton Bay.

Rain. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain. (I originally played this lot in Oasis Springs.)

But it DID do what I wanted it to do, which was to give us a cheap place to stay with $215 weekly bills so we could concentrate on frogs. I also leveled painting and put her in the freelance career, but she's only done a single gig so far because FROGS.  FROGS are what we care about.  FROGS.

We also adopted two stray cats, because that's what I do, yo. Because RAIN, we lost a laptop and when we finally invested in a fridge to deal with the leftovers, it also broke in the rain, so...

    Okay, so, for this challenge:

I gave my Sim the Loves the Outdoors trait and the Curator aspiration so she would have the collector bonus trait. (She’s also Creative and Self-Assured, but that’s not really relevant.)

Base Game is the Best Game for Frogs, except for the Sulani waterfall (except that there's a cooldown on the Sulani waterfall and you can spam "look for frogs" in ponds). I finally got fed up with all the rain and went to Granite Falls and found some frogs there, but most of my frogs came from the Oasis Springs park's pond. I also got frogs in Sylvan Glade.

Most of my frog breeding was completely random until I had all the frogs except for one common, and then I used Carl's frog guide and tried to breed the missing frog and failed on like five attempts, lol, but finally caught it in the Oasis Springs park pond.

I have NOT finished the collection, just the scenario. If I were to try to finish the collection I would breed for it. I might; I'm only six away...

The last thing I did was get my cooking level up to 7 so I got make the boiling frog hot pot.  LOL. I have not yet had her EAT the boiling frog hot pot, but my friend tells me it gives a +4 energized moodlet.

Also, this one gave a very generous helping of satisfaction.

So, tips for anyone doing the Frog scenario:

    1. Like I said before, Base Game is the Best Game for frogs. There are frog logs in Brindleton Bay and Granite Falls, but Willow Creek and Oasis Springs feel like they have more. Newcrest also has frogs. Don't forget Sylvan Glade!

    2. Ponds are awesome. I mean, don't pass up a frog log, those are guaranteed. And the pumps will let you know ahead of time if there's a frog in there or not. But you can spam the "look for frogs" action until their queue is full and do it again.

    3. Do not live in a tent in Brindleton Bay in the spring. You will become deeply annoyed by the rain. (Summer would be worse, ugh!)

    4. The main skill you need to level is cooking, because the required dish requires cooking level 7. I made it on the grill. Use the homey lot trait and if you have tiny living, use it.

    5. The peninsula behind the Willow Creek library has a lot of frog logs. There's also the fishing spot where I used to regularly catch Angelfish, if you need one.

    6. The collector bonus trait you get for choosing a Nature aspiration in CAS is awesome for this challenge.

    7. Seriously, go to the park and spam the ponds.

And now, I think I'm going to give her a little log cabin for Rebate Day.

  • Honestly I am so proud of EA for making so many versitile and interesting scenarios! I worried they would add it and then stop managing it and the original scenarios were a little... Boring tbh. But what they have now are just so cool and I can't wait to add them in to the midst of my Generations Challenge! Should make things interesting, I want froggos in my house 🙂
