Game crashing when trying to load households

'm not really sure why or how this is happening, because I played a whole lot yesterday and this wasn't happening, it only started happening today. Pretty much, I can get into the game and onto the main menu with no issues, but once i try to load a household, I get booted after a minute on the loading screen. I haven't downloaded any new mods today OR yesterday either so I don't believe a mod was breaking my game. Either way I went to all my main mods that usually break my game if they aren't updated, and updated all of those and it's STILL happening. I also repaired my game too! Sims 4 btw and I’m on PC.

  • @SYDGIRLROCKS This can have both game causes and mod causes. First, let's rule out the obvious more fully: Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. If you think you might accidentally forget to exit without saving after testing, copy your Saves folder to your desktop too, to back it up. Now open Sims 4 and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, you can start the process of figuring out what from your Mods folder was causing it.

If it's not that, we can look at what else might be happening.

So I did take out my mods completely and the problems still there! I also deleted the localthumbchache. I saw a lot of people saying for rent was breaking their game and I just wanted to say that I don’t have it so that’s definitely not the problem. I’m not sure what’s causing it 🥲
