game frozen on loading screen on startup but cursor still responsive

I’m going through a dilemma and can’t troubleshoot an answer

When i open my game, the loading screen gets stuck, the entire screen is frozen. But, my cursor can still click, although it is stuck in pointer. I can hear it clicking things but it’s stuck on the frozen loading screen, so I don’t know what I’m clicking on.

I have repaired the files, removed mods and put them back, deleted localthumbcache, and restarted my laptop altogether, but have reached no solution. The game is unplayable as of right now, I can’t even get to the main menu.

I haven’t seen anyone with my issue so I’m posting here for any answers or any fix to this situation.

    Hi m00nilas​ 

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    - Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
    - Start a new save game
    - Check if you still have the error
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
