Hi guys. So I need help with the new adopting features. Or maybe I have questions that I need answered.
Long before this pack came out, one of my sims had twins. I did not want her to have twins so I decided to give one of the twins to moms brother. I had him and his partner adopt her as a care dependent, and they have taken care of her since birth. The original intent was to have the brother adopt the child outright, but it was not possible due to the restrictions of the game at the time.
Fast forward to now and I was super excited when I found out you could adopt an existing sim...
Except that the option will not show up. I have tried removing dependent care status and moving her back into the moms household, and the option to adopt will not pop up.
Is it possible for the brother adopt the kid or not? Can I put the child up for adoption now and then have them adopt her...? How is this supposed to work??

Have you checked that twin's family tree to see if they already have 2 parents listed? If there are 2 parents listed for this Sim in the family tree, adoption will not be possible for this Sim.
In my family tree, my teen sim only has one parent. His father is married to a new wife and the new wife cannot adopt him. I have removed care dependent and still nothing. They have a good relationship so that is not the problem either.
