How do you contact EA???
I very badly need to talk to support, I am baffled that a massive company doesn't have any way to contact them, I literally cant play my game, it is trying to redownload it so my harddrive is full, I...
On the side in this forum there is a link to EA Help. They can however not help with your lack of free space.
Please post a DxDiag. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
You can attach the txt file directly to your answer.
Then I or someone else here can see how bad it is.
Hey @jennyskywalker -
First, just breathe. Don’t panic. And don’t delete anything from your hard drive yet - that way your Sims have a better chance of surviving.
😉
Second, if ‘trying to download’ means it’s not downloaded yet, I recommend you stop the process while we figure out what’s going on. Download progress will be discarded before it ties up your hard drive space. Check and see if what it’s actually downloading says Legacy Edition. Go ahead and disable automatic updates for your game (at least for now), so you have control of the process. If it’s already downloaded that’s OK, but check your download history and see if the recent download was the standard (might say deluxe) or legacy version.
Third, you can actually get excellent tech-support here in the forum as an alternative to contacting EA help. There are a number of very responsive and knowledgeable volunteers (who are fellow players helping other players) able to assist, but we’re going to need more info to help. @jpkarlsen provided the diagnostic info typically requested for Windows platform. If you’re on a Mac, this link specifies the info for that platform to begin troubleshooting (Mac Specs for Troubleshooting). Providing any other information upfront that you think might be relevant can be pretty helpful in diagnosing your prob faster, so feel free to share your thoughts and observations.
Fyi and for future reference, there are tech-support boards for Sims 4 specific to the windows platform (Tech Support - PC) and for Mac (Tech Support-Mac) It helps to post tech-support help requests on the relevant pages to route the request to the relevant experts more efficiently. No need to start over for this issue - just go ahead and reply to this thread (but you might want bookmark those links).
Cheers.
