I brought my first pet stuff last night and now it’s free?

Last night I decided to buy my first pet stuff pack but then I wake up this morning to go onto Instagram and see a post from the sims saying that it is free. I find this very very annoying as I think people who brought the packs that are now coming out free should get a refund and a choice to pick another pack. 

is this just me?
