Still not understanding how they are bypassing the system.
In my game when I download someone's house plot creation, drop it on a fresh plot then start decorating it the creator name stays on the house no matter how many times I save it. Even when I've changed it extensively the original creator name stays on the house plot.
And I would have expected the same of anything I made.
So what exactly are they doing to bypass the system, and shouldn't this be patched out?
They download the lot which has the original creator name on.
They start a new lot which hasn't had the download anywhere near it with the original creator name on it.
They rebuild and reupload.
There may be other ways but that is one, and how can that be patched out? It can't without it realising it's exactly the same, and even then you could change something miniscule about it to get round it.

I still don't see how this gets around it? Shouldn't plonking the lot down keep the creator name, no matter how much stuff they adjust?
- Purple_Tragedy4 years agoSeasoned Veteran@khitteh You seem to be misunderstanding - what @Coley666 is saying is: they don't adjust the lot that they "plonked" down but rather use it as a floor plan/guide for what they build on a separate lot. They then upload the "new" build which would not have the original creators name because it is just a copy that seems like a whole new build.

@khittehThey can bypass the original author's name by placing the lot in the world and re-saving it to their library. This clears out the original author's name.Okay that's weird, because in my game if I place a lot then resave it to my library, the lot has my name at top saying "By" and then under that says "Original By" with the person's name I downloaded it from.
Which should keep their name if I uploaded it to gallery right?

So they'd need to painstakingly redecorate it as well.
I mean, that's basically a whole lot of work. Just to steal a floorplan?
