Let's Discuss AlterLife in Terms of EA: Realism vs caricature simulation
Hi fellow Simmers and SimGurus,
Let's Discuss AlterLife in Terms of EA: Realism vs caricature simulation
It appears as though life simulation game AlterLife might be giving The Sims franchise a run for their money, boasting an extensive interior editor to build any apartment or house you like, tens of thousands of items at your disposal and ultra-detailed graphics.
It is nice that there's competition at the fore, as it eradicates any chance for creators' block, alongside the modding/content creator community. Although it is ultra-realistic looking, the environment still has the remanence of a cartoon-like environment, it has just been taken in a more realistic direction. The environment does look like a game, not a mock-up of reality.
Cause for Action:
What does everyone think? Should EA Games head down the direction of a more intermediate art direction that is between realism vs caricature simulation, such as AlterLife?
