Hi, my problem is in my household, a sim passed away, she left heirlooms in the house, and she also left heirlooms to her husband and children and grandchild. Whenever they think of the original owner, they get an angry moodlet saying some sims are better off not remembered. They all loved her... She was also reborn into another household. Why are they angry about her heirlooms? I do use mods, as well as custom content. I've looked around about this online and I can't find anything.

I’ve been having this problem since the release of Life and Death. As soon as the ghost "moves on" in whatever manner they do … rebirth, fading away, being released to the Netherworld by another sim … the only moodlet any other sim will get from any heirloom is angry. Doesn’t matter if there’s a will or not. Doesn’t matter if an emotion was attached to the will, and if so which one. Doesn’t matter if the sim was well loved or hated, or if the sim thinking about the heirloom's owner ever even knew the dead sim.It’s really frustrating, because it negates having heirlooms at all. For example, my plan had been to pass down my legacy family's wedding rings to each new generation, but as soon as those ghosts were gone? Can’t use the rings anymore unless I want the happy bride and groom angry all the time. After having been passed down 15 generations before the release of L&D, they just sit in the jewelry box now. I regret making them heirlooms.And I play on PS5, so no mods or cc causing problems. The problem is with the coding for heirlooms.

I just ran a test of it on a new save with no mods or cc, and the sim that passed left several heirlooms, and her relatives had a positive moodlet. I'm now going to rebirth her and see if it's still the same positive moodlet.

I just rebirthed her into a new household, and went back to the old one and had the sims view the same heirlooms. And they got an angry moodlet that says 'dead to me, some sims shouldn't be remembered ', just like in my previous save with rebirthed Sims. So rebirthed Sim's heirlooms make their family in the original household angry for some reason. That's odd I think.

I have no mods and am having this problem. My Sim had a great relationship with her mother who died (i let her be a ghost in the world, not playing her nor was she reborn). Every time she or her children (who never even met the grandmother) look at the heirlooms they get the angry 'dead to me' moodlet.

IIRC you can only attach emotions to wills and not heirlooms but did you leave an angry will by chance ?
