[LLQE] Phone icon with the only option being 'destroy' appears in Sim inventory

After completing the event I was able to get destroy the phone for good. Finally 

For me it takes the place of my glimmerstone, and the only thing I can do is destroy it and go manually and get another one from a sage...I hope they fix this soon because its a royal pain in the butt to have keep doing this every time I come on!

Same. Except my sim will do nothing, even when I debug her, until I destroy the phone. Then she'll START to do a task before bugging out again and giving up. I've restarted my game 6 times over the past hour trying to just do this stupid event but every time they try to do a task, the whole game bugs out. 

I haven't played in a while because of bugs but this EP looked fun. I should've known better -_- 

Just wanted to add that all 4 household members have the phone, even the toddlers. I am not touching my event save except for the tasks in the hope this will get resolved or answered. 

With the save corruption issue STILL running rampant, I really want an official statement from the EA team about the cellphone in our Sims' inventory. This whole "not-knowing-if-its-safe" & "just wait and ignore it" doesn't feel right or professional.

The thought of a buggy phone from another buggy event in my Sims inventory possibly corrupting our saves makes me want to not participate at all.

EA_Cade​ as a commmunity manager, would you be willing to soothe some of our fears about the unknown?

We shall see as the event goes on.

I got a new one after my game crashed without saving so I'm guessing the game will just spawn a new one but I'm not going to risk trying :D

My sim got this phone as well. What is it supposed to do? Will I be able to finish the event if I accidentally destroy it?

I don't know. I just know it's from the event.

My game crashed before I saved and it was recreated so I guess you should be fine if you destroy it but there's really no reason to. Just wait to see what's to come.

So it's intentional? That the only interaction available on the cellphone is "Destroy" ...?

Since its added by the Event, are there going to be other interactions availble as the Event progresses? Or will it just be "Destroy" the whole time?

If we destroy it, will it negatively affect the Event?
