No option to Merge or Replace household in CAS

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but Batuu, Modern Luxe, Poolside Splash, Greenhouse, Decor to the Max, Courtyard Oasis, Streetwear, Fashion Street Kit, Menswear, and Little Campers.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to replace or merge families from the Gallery to the current household in CAS.
What happens when the bug occurs? I edited all the default Townies in the Sims 4. Then I downloaded a custom save, and I'm in the process of replacing those townies. The thing is, it's not giving me the option to merge or replace the sims. It adds them to the current household, and I have to delete the sims I'm trying to replace.
What do you expect to see? Being able to have the option to merge or replace my household with the click of a button.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I downloaded a custom save file where the houses had been redone, because I'm too lazy to do it myself. However, I redid ALL of the Townies in a separate save file. Now I'm trying to replace the sims in the downloaded save file with my edited Sims. The issue is, there is no option to replace or merge in CAS. I click "add household" and it places my custom sims along with the current family. Then I have to delete that family to make the changes. It's very tedious and annoying.

  • @ginger9933 Just used this the other day so it's working fine for me. Have you tested this without mods/cc installed ?

I just tested it without my mods. And the option to merge/replace popped up. I have no idea where to look for the mod that's interrupting it.

@ginger9933 So this is interesting. I install my mods with Curseforge. And some still needed to be manually updated. On existing saves, there are no options to merge/replace sims. But on new saves, the option is there. So maybe it is a bug.

@crinrict Yes. Same result. No option to merge or replace. It just adds the sims to the current household in CAS.

@ginger9933 OK, I see what you mean. I'm not sure if this is a bug either but I think it's been always this way.

For exiting families this option doesn't exist but if you create a new family you can replace them even in existing files. Why don't you delete the families you don't want and then create new ones and add those ?
