Re: How to prevent male pets from being impregnated (or giving birth)?

@SimsCurrant Have you tried fixing them in CAS in their little customisation panel in the top left hand corner, or by taking them to the vet to be neutered. I find CAS quicker personally.

I've never seen this happen though, I didn't think it was possible. Not absolutely sure it should be happening in your game, sounds like a bug but I could be wrong. Maybe it's mod related but I've never used them so I don't know. Anyway, fixing the pets should fix the problem 😾.

If you still want them to have kittens you could still do it through Manage Households, unfix them in CAS then use play with genetics to create a little fur baby and then fix the parent again before leaving CAS...ouch (my cat is literally glaring at me as I'm typing!)

I'd rather find a way to prevent male pet pregancy globally, but that should work momentarily.
I do have quite a bit of mods, including script mods. Can't play without them!

@SimsCurrantI've looked for a bug report but can't find one for this issue. Have you tested it in a vanilla save, no mods? I'd maybe try that to see if it is mod related or not to get to the bottom of why it's happening.
Edit: asked for advice from players who also use mods and it does sound like that could be what's causing it. As I thought, it's not a feature of the game itself. So something is causing it to happen, possibly pet related mods including horse mods if any. I'm told it's doubtful that a mod is intending to have this result and most likely it's something that's broken and needs to be identified.
