- @Hawksdaughter I agree, sometimes I put them in the bigger fish tanks instead of bowls. But I'm not happy at the fact local Sims yell at my Sim for catching them and their rep is affected.

I have two different Sulani sims, both have the Child of the Islands trait, so they will not keep any endangered fish, not even in an aquarium. Just wouldn't be right. It sucks, actually.

Maybe we'll get lucky, (when the fish fly, lol) and someone from EA will see this and go 'hmm', should have thought of that.
Can't you just move worlds to fix the "getting yelled at by locals" thing or is there no limitations to where they can berate you for it?
@Micecream420They can only be caught in Sulani. But I get around it by only keeping the endangered fish if nobody is around. My Sims often fish overnight when it's more deserted.
Edit: to mitigate the negative effects on reputation I only keep 1 and catch and release several. Throwing a lot of them back boosts reputation and makes up for any losses.

Actually they can be stocked in fishing ponds if you manage to catch one! They'll still be considered endangered even if you stock multiple fishing ponds with them! Personally I think it should only effect you in Sulani, but not if they are caught in fishing ponds or they should add the option to breed them to increase their numbers to improve your reputation maybe as part of the Conservation career or a related activity!
I also wonder if they'll stop if you improve your reputation (like using the PR Agency to publish a good story)!

You know you can save them to the gallery then load them to be able to modify their traits (or accumulate enough satisfaction points to purchase the Re-Training Potion which allows you to reset their traits! The Child of the Ocean trait specifically makes these Sims become sad while fishing or if they see a mounted fish, and uncomfortable when eating fish! It's one of the MAJOR drawbacks of said trait that makes it only useful if you want your Sim to be vegan, dislikes fishing & seafood, which sucks as it makes them react negatively to the one water related activity that their trait would be useful for (especially spearfishing)! Still I wonder if it can be mitigated by making Fishing one of their Likes in the hopes it counteracts the trait somewhat enough to get the Fishing Aspiration reward trait which helps decay negative moodlets!
I discovered all this with my Mermaid Sim which I was thankful for as I was worried it was cause they were a Mermaid but it turns out the trait was the culprit! I personally think we need a trait that lacks Child of the Ocean's negatives allowing Sims to enjoy a wide variety of water related activities!
