Re: What things can I swipe?! I can't find anything to steal!

As kleptomaniac is my all-time favorite trait and I never have a Sim without it, I can offer a bit of insight into how this works:

For mischief skill 0-4 you'll be able to swipe items that are less than 300 simoleons (books, wall art, trophies, collectibles, clocks, lamps, various clutter decor, etc.)
For mischief level 5-7, you can start swiping items between 300-1,999 simoleons (chairs, tablets, various electronics, higher value paintings, etc.)
From mischief level 8+, you can really get going on your crime-spree and begin swiping items worth 2,000 and up simoleons (PC's, instruments, TV's, gaming consoles, couches, etc.)

Some furniture is not able to be stolen however, like ceiling decorations or specific kid toys.

@EA_Solaire Lovely, thank you for this! If you would be so kind, I have another question about klepto sims as I haven't played as much with them.. Am I just imagining things or did we have an option to pickpocket other sims with high enough Mischief skill?

Pickpocketing is not so much a part of the kleptomaniac trait, but actually part of the criminal career! Once you reach level 3 of the criminal career (Ring Leader) and you have level 3 mischief, you'll unlock the pickpocket interaction.

Dang it though, it would be fun for some more scruffy characters to be able to do this (non-autonomously ofc) even if they weren't in that career... perhaps with a lower chance of succeeding if they weren't an actual criminal..

Yeah, I love to send my klepto sims with level 10 mischief to the Plumbob Pictures Museum and have them swipe the suit of armor. :D
Pickpocketing is part of the criminal career and is a lot of fun. I fondly remember my criminal Sim pickpocketing Vlad when he came by to do his thing... If you have Journey to Batuu, I think the Scoundrel aspiration reward trait will let you pickpocket as well.
