Sim who is joining household isn't bringing the value of their house or lot

It used to be that if a Sim joined the household and they were the only Sim in their own household, they would sell their lot and the value of the lot and the buildings would be added to the household they are joining, in addition to the value of furniture sold and any money in their household funds.

However, when I have a Sim move in this is not happening. Whether they move in as a result of marriage or not, they are not bringing all the Simoleons I am expecting them to bring.

If I select "sell furniture" in the split household manager, they only bring whatever is in their household funds. So for example, if my Sim marries Johnny Zest, he only brings 3000-some Simoleons when it should be more like 23,000 Simoleons after the sale of the furniture, lot, and house on the lot.

The only way to get any money from the house sale at all is to have the Sim bring their furniture over with them so I can sell it manually. But that still isn't including Simoleons my Sim should be getting for the sale of the lot and the house on it. It still ends up being about 10,000 Simoleons short in my Johnny Zest example.

So far the only work around I have found is to go to Manage Worlds and move them in manually and skip the household manager. But this ruins the flow of things like marriages. I want my Sim to acquire a rich sim's money without me forcing it like that.

I'm not using any mods so there shouldn't be anything interfering with the finances of the game.

Thank you.

  • @LayeLeeSims There seem currently a few issues with moving/merging households. There's a few reports of 'keep furniture' not working but yours seems just about the funds and I tested at the time that was reported and it all worked fine for me (except the known getting stuck on moving screen).

Have you tested another save for testing purposes to see if it's limited to your save ?

If you just move the SIm to a new house without merging, does that work ?

Unfortunately this happens to me on all saves, even brand new ones.

Moving a sim normally works fine. If I were to move my legacy family to another lot they would get the value for everything as they should.
Also if I exit the split household manager and just move in new spouses or friends manually, they get the money they should this way too.
I’ve seen other peoples reports about that being an issue but that’s not the issue I am experiencing. It is just the split household manager that isn’t giving me the money I’m expecting.

The whole split household thing is giving me issues actually. The only thing it does right is move sims over. Or it used to. But now I’m also getting the hang up issues, and I think it’s possible the whole split household manager might need a mechanic to look at it.
