Could you start a new game for testing purposes to see if you have the same issue.

As in go to the main menu and click on the + sign in the upper right corner to start a new game. Make sure to save it under a new name so you don't loose the old one (or not save at all),
Hey! I have the same problem, and starting a new game or switching between households does nothing.🤐 Unfortunately I saved my game in this state and now I'm kinda screwed 🤒
Did you try a backup or just replacing the houses (if you still have them in your library) ?
Do they disappear again if you re-place ?
I'm having the same issue on Mac OS, game was installed via Origin. After a day of playing houses are disapearing. Non of the described advises helped.
I’m having a similar problem..
when i I got into edit town mode, I go to place to a house (already made) into a lot that doesn’t have a house on there. As I place the property on the lot, it processes but the house doesn’t show up on the map. It’s like it never placed or it’s impossible to place down.. I can’t even click on to the house after placing it down because it keeps showing up as it’s just a lot still..
Someone help?!
