I haven’t had crashing/freezing problems, or issues with CAS thumbnails. My loading screens are 1-2 minutes on PS4 and 30 seconds to 1 minute on PS5, depending on how old the save file is. I actually find it pretty convenient to hop from lot to lot on console because of how quick the loading screens are for me. Sorry to hear you’re having problems! Fortunately it’s not universal for console users, so maybe this is solvable for your situation.
One thing that improved performance for me on the PS4 was upgrading the ssd and keeping the fan clear of dust. What kinds of troubleshooting steps have you already taken?
@ChapelParalysis Your very lucky. My PS4 is in a very dusky area and I haven’t dusted it off in a while, I’ll definitely take your advice and try that. Thanks.

@justtayunicorns You'd be surprised just how damaging dust can be on a console, or just electronics in general, so it pays to regularly clean your consoles as best as you can. Just a few other tips that may (or may not) help. Try keeping the console in a more open area so you don't restrict airflow, and do not do anything to block the vents. Avoid hot places, or setting it on surfaces that can really absorb heat like carpeting or rugs, because heat can be killer on electronics too. Don't set things on top of the console, at least not while you use it, not sure if that one is all that important but might as well be safe.
You may do some of these things already, but just wanted to try suggesting some things in case it could help. It very well could just be the game though, because lets be honest this game is a mess in its current state and is typically a mess anyway.
One other thing I'm curious about, how old is your PS4 and how much do you play it? I ask because some of what you say reminds me of how my games would play on my PS3 when its hard drive started to fail. Long loading, certain things failing to load, freezing, those could be signs of hardware failure. Do any of your other games show similar problems? If not I wouldn't worry about it being hardware failure.
Personally I would lean more towards it being the game, but it never hurts to try some things to help keep your console clean and cool.

@valohim666 I’ll definitely take your suggestions of taking care of my PS4, this was a lot of new information to me that I previously didn’t know. I’ve had my PS4 since 2017, it runs better than most of my friends whose had theirs longer. None of my other games have any errors. I even bought Cyberpunk, which is known to be the worst game to run on console, but for me Cyberpunk actually ran really well. I had little to no glitches and no long loading times. If that means anything.

@justtayunicorns Sounds like it's just Sims 4 being a pain in the butt, which is nothing new really. People can blame the consoles all they want, but there are so many reports of problems I doubt it's anything other than the game's fault. I mean I play on an Xbox One X, which you would think would perform pretty well, but lately I'm seeing slowdown and lag and even some temporary freezing. So yeah I wouldn't worry too much about your PS4 being the issue because I don't think it is, but I'd still try and take care of it as best as you can so it won't overheat or anything while you play.
