@justtayunicorns I use the console and never had these problems, maybe you have a less powerful console and the extra packs you have installed (assuming you have them!) may make the game slower because the game needs to load everything from every pack into the game.
@imurbestfrienddd I do have a lot of packs but I’ve never really had any problems like this before. Also I haven’t had my PS4 all that long. My game has never froze on me or had thumbnail loading problems.
- @justtayunicorns Do you run the game on a disc? try to see if its scratched or has a buildup of dirt,this may severely impact gameplay.

The disc is there to install game data, and once that's done the only reason you need the disc is so the console can verify that you actually have the game when trying to start it. Once the game starts, everything is read off of the HDD (or SSD if you have one of those).
@imurbestfrienddd I do in fact run the game on disc. I take good care of my disc so I doubt there’s any scratches but I’ll check. I used to have a cat that was very interested in my disc coming out from the PS4 and he’d play with it but I can’t remember if the Sims 4 was one of them.
update: check my disc and everything looks crystal clear.
