The roommate is protesting

Why would a roommate knock on the door indoors to protest about the loud volume? This should be something that neighbors do. After the roommate protests, the friendship value with the host family will turn red. They will dislike each other and then start quarreling and fighting. Every day it's either quarreling or fighting until they get extremely angry and die. It's not funny at all!
