Todd doesn't show up as the apothecary vendor

Hi!

I've been trying to get Todd bac as the apothecary vendor, because he was unnassigned for some reason by the game and a random NPC is doing that job.

I tried giving Todd the career back via cheat using his ID and everything, but still a random NPC is working there when I load the neighborhood again. I even tried removing the random NPC's career to no avail.

I'm getting very frustared, because nothing works and the random NPC is NOT who I want to be as the vendor.

Is there any other way to fix this?

  • Nobody95  You can fix it.  The reason this probably happened is that you entered his lot in live mode.  When you did, the game took away his special trait and made an NPC replacement.  This is nothing new as this can happen with any sim with a role that is on a lot rather than being "Not in World".   There are several ways to fix it so Todd will be back in his Apothecary role.  I'll discuss the easiest way to go about it for the time being.

So, step one is start a new save.  Once you've made and placed the required sim, go to Manage Households and open Todd's household in CAS.  Btw, it is safe to edit the role sims in CAS just don't ever put them in live mode.  So, edit Todd and his partner if you want.  Then save the household to your Library.  Once you've got them in your Library, you can shut down the game.   Restart the game and load the save you want him back in.  Go to Manage Households and find Todd and his partner's household and delete it.  You should also delete the sim that the game gave the role to as well.  The easiest way to get Todd's household in a save is to place the Library copy into a house directly from the Library, then immediately evict them so they are not on a lot and show in Manage Households as "Not in World" (to avoid accidentally doing it again).   Once done, play for a while to make sure Todd did resume the role.   There are other ways to accomplish the same thing so if this way doesn't work for you, come back and I'll give you something else to try.

    Hope this helps.
