Unable to move furniture in Build/Buy after downloading from the gallery

For probably over a year (possibly longer), I’m having an issue where after downloading a few lots/households from the Gallery, I can no longer move furniture in Build/Buy mode. I’m unable to pick up or reposition objects.

This happens in every save file, not just one. The only way I can temporarily fix it is by deleting the localthumbcache.package file and clearing the cache folders. However once I download more items from the Gallery, the issue happens again.

I have repaired the game and the problem still returns. 

I do have mods and cc installed but they are all up to date and I just don't know how this keeps happening every single time.

Has anyone experienced this before or know what could be causing it?

    hey! plus one to this. I just placed a few lots from the gallery into newcrest to fill it, which immediately caused this. It also has a weird bug when you try to sell multiple furniture, and sledgehammer becomes unusable.

    I just experienced this, and exited the game to see if I needed to restart anything, because I had added a few lots from the gallery into the game. Then, all of a sudden, in build/buy mode, nothing wants to move or get removed. I have to click on something else in the game for it to move. lmk how you fixed it.

    Are you getting a text error when you try?

    You have to check the wall heights - they may be one level in the gallery and another on your lot. Even check the basment. This kept happening and i realized I had two different wall heights in my basement (SHOULD be impossible, but it wasn't).

    For some reason, the game didn't adjust and it was messing with everything - couldn't move furniture or change room dimensions.
