I just begun the game (I never played before today). I already took a look at both posts I found about this, but none of the solutions work. Basically, when I paint a wall yellow (for example), it's sorta yellow, but very dark - there are 2 lamps and 4 windows, and it's during the day. My GPU is more than capable of playing the game (settings are maxed out). I tried the roof thing, but when I lower the roof, it lowers the wall (not that I had a roof at first lol (had a ceiling, not a roof though, but I added the roof to see if that would make a difference). I legit have a rectangle, without any breaks. Nothing more than that.

@Midevil_Chaos The walls look as they should, you just need to add more windows: I stuck a glass roof texture on so you can see how it affects the lighting, first one is morning light, second is afternoon:

@Midevil_Chaos That looks normal to me. Have you tried different times of day? The house looks like it's all in the shade of a tree. Try adding a glass roof and see what effect that has on the rooms.

@Bluebellflora Naw. I have another Sim, and one of the tiny rooms, for example, has 2 massive windows and the lights on. The only walls that are brighter are the ones literally where the windows are on. The rest are darker.

@Bluebellflora Done. Uploaded it. However, I did not find any windowed roofs.

Can you post a screenshot in-game showing how dark it is? Could you also post a screenshot of your in-game graphics settings please.

That looks normal to me. Have you tried different times of day? The house looks like it's all in the shade of a tree. Try adding a glass roof and see what effect that has on the rooms.

Hmm. Could you upload the lot to the gallery so I can download and look in my game? What happened when you added a glass roof (it's a great way to test lighting).

Thanks, I'll look at it in a bit. The glass roof is a roof texture in build mode with the other roofing textures.

@Bluebellflora I get what you're saying, but since this is a game, realistically, I find it too dark. Way too dark imo. Some areas as shown above, are just too dark despite the windows you added. And you said you added some roof glass panels, so I do believe they are way too dark in that case. Take a look at the second image. See how the room has a lot of light in it? Yet, the walls are so dark.
