cause i thought it was the way to make the child the same noble title as their parents had before they died, but my sims never got one although their parents did promise them. they live in the same house, and they already joined the noble career.
It's a promise to inherit their title after the parent has abdicated or died. For about 24 hours after your Sim's parent abdicates or dies, the child can claim their position, as long as they've joined the Noble career. They can then use the "Claim Title" interaction (or whatever it's called) to skip all the way up to their parent's previous rank and inherit the title.
