Where Are Your Sims When You Load Your Game?
Normally when I am dong playing I do it when all my sims are in bed and I save and exit game. I feel sure that when I returned to the game that they were still in bed or at the very least doing stuff around their house. I have never really paid much attention because it wasn't really a big deal.
For about a month or so now I have noticed that when I load up my games, my sims may not even be home. A household I have with two brothers and they are almost always gone somewhere and most usually they can be found at The Starlight Lounge in San Myshuno. With that said, when I am playing other households and take them to The Starlight Lounge, my brothers are there like 90% or the time or more. Like they are part of those townies that hang out there or something.
A child I have in another household who lives in Windenburg is often gone and when I look where he is I find he is in Ravenwood. I don't think I have been able to see exactly where, but his mother lives there with her husband so I assume he is at their house.
These households are in the same save and it happens in other households too but these I noticed more so because I play them more and it happens a lot. I know this hasn't always been going on because I 100% would have noticed it like I am now. I have no idea is this something that was slipped in on me, part of the after patch madness problems I am experiencing or what. I would appreciate it if some of you can let me know your experience in this. I really would have noticed my sim child being gone other than to school or afterschool activities so this cannot just be my imagination.
If you save and exit the game, then the next time open the same household, your sims should be exactly where you left them (although sometimes if you left them sleeping they may be standing next to the bed with “sleep” queued as their first action).
If you play rotationally, however, your sims will move on without you and when you come back to the household it will pick places they’re likely to be - and if they were just pulled into a public lot as part of the crowd while playing another household they may still be there.
Switching households in the middle of the night is the way you’re most likely to get sims all safely at home when you rotate in, but if you’re playing different households with vastly different work/sleep schedules, this can get thrown off.
