why I can't play sims 4

So, I wanted to play my sims games after the game updated on the steam waited for couple hours for the game to be done. So, I created my new sims family some reason I can't play it. It keeps taking me to the main menu I have restarted the whole game it keeps taking me the same setting. Like what hell is going on EA needs to fix their **bleep** I'm not going keep games packs if this **bleep** keeps happen.
