Advice Please

Hi all, I was wondering if I could ask some advice.

I play The Sims on my laptop and PC, I just put my saves onto my external hard drive and transfer them to the other device when I switch. I'm thinking of being brave and installing the infant patch and new pack. If this turns out to be a mistake, is there a way of transferring the old version of the game from the other device back onto the device I installed the updated version on? I hope this makes sense!

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  • I don't think it's possible to revert to an older version of the game, at least I'm not aware of how to.

You can always update on one computer and leave EA app offline on the other maybe?
  • Hey there

I think best option to have 2 save files - one with original game save and 1 with the new 1 and that way you will have backup incase you dont like it or want to go back to your old game
  • Thanks for the reply, but I think you're just talking about the save files right, not the actual game version? I'm talking about transferring the old version of the game, not just the saves.

I was just on chat to EA and they told me there is no way of doing this, but I don't know if there is anyone out there especially clever and knows a way? Lol.
  • Game install/update will probably affect registry files. So you can't just copy the entire game to the other device.
  • Doh, I was afraid of that. Never mind, I have bitten the bullet and downloaded the patch and the EP onto my laptop and left the old version on my PC for now. I haven't played enough with it yet to know how it's going to go, but hopefully it'll be ok! *Crosses fingers*

    Thanks for your responses!
