I'm in favor of Gavin. Though I have to say, the way you wrote it, now I'm trying to figure out a reason that OF COURSE being a cat lover would be the defining characteristic that would make him jump ship and join the pirates.
The closest I can come up with is something about monkeys being associated with pirates, but since the choices of animals in the Sims is extremely limited, then cats it is.
Or, wait. Cats are known to be very opinionated, I-do-what-I-want sorts of creatures, so maybe Gavin is channeling his inner cat in his decision to just do what appeals to him in the moment?
