They're relevant. They get early access, so people will view their content to get the reviews. You can also tell from the forums that people still listen to Plumbella. EA has been giving them building opportunities, which also helps to give them exposure. They also seem to have "pet" Game Changers they listen to, albeit for small things that don't require much effort to implement.
Personally though, I lost interest in most of them. Most of them are not relevant to me. Their content has gotten stale and repetitive, so I've unsubscribed to most of them. I kind of have to blame EA for this, since a lot of content doesn't have the longevity to keep players going until the next pack arrives - everyone just got bored of Snowy Escape after like a week, at best. But when you're knee-deep in build challenge videos, it's time to move on to something else.
Seriously, this is such a big problem I have with Sims LP's. I love long-running series, but I don't love the padding. Concepts being dragged out for way too long, or videos being 75% daily life gameplay, 15% cute/funny moments, and 10% plot. I'm here to see what Sim X is doing to try and overcome poverty, or get into funny shenanigans. I'm not here to watch her take a poop, eat cereal and play chess for seven hours. I like seeing progress, not padding.
(Sorry, I wanted to rant about this for a while and this is my chance. I've loved Sims LPs/stories ever since the days of ye ole Sims 2 Exchange. It's been tragic, watching the art get butchered and slowly die off on YouTube.)

The problem with Let's Plays is that they need to change up the way they do it instead of just recording themselves playing for 20-30 minutes.
