Museums are the most useless lots in the game. I can't imagine how any player would enjoy watching their sim's stare at picture on the wall or sculptures for hours on end. I'd rather see my sims dance, socialize, actually do something. I think the art gallery in San Myshuno is slightly better because there's an art studio and small bar area where your sims can do things.
That said, I might keep this museum, because Hollywood does have some museums about movie history, but maybe I'll just enhance it with some interesting objects the sims can use. All the other museums will be deleted.
I like the Arts Center lot desiegnation -- I use it for all the various skill building items that don't fit on the average residential lot. I have oneDS in Newcrest that I'm moving to one of the 50x40 lots in The Pinnacles -- it'll look great there. I send entire families there and they can each work on something different; there's a kids' playroom for my toddlers and children, the teens and up can paint or use the microscope in the basement or telescopes out on the balconies. Just finished a minor remodeling to add space for a music/video produiction studio for my broke Sims in that field. (I'll have to rebuild the rocket ship unfortunately.)
