I tried going over to do those coop chores. My sim could do everything but collecting eggs and clean coop as those two were greyed out. I assume the coop was clean, but am not sure if that is the default status when visiting. There was 0 eggs to collect (from 3 hens) so again, was this because he was a visitor? I know we need to be present on a lot at 5-6 AM regarding crops on plants, but my experience is that new eggs can appear also during the day. My sim stopped for 5-6 hrs, and still 0 eggs.
However, he could "help his folks" with harvesting 4 soy plants. He left 2 soy blocks on their counter and too the other two with him. Forgot to check whether he can sell them or if game is not seeing him as the owner.
Well, will try again. So far it seems like it could be possible having an "imaginary" job assisting a farm by just going there to do stuff. In this case his folks did not react as they are his parents. But like suggested above, the always welcome trait could help if turning this into a profession :)
