Can a Sim visit another residential lot to help with farm?

My sim lived on a farm friendly lot, with the chicken coop as his responsibility. He is set to inherit this lot, but moved temporarily in with his girlfriend. I now wonder if he will be allowed to sti...

Maybe I'm getting it mixed up, and they can open the fridge but can't put away leftovers? Like I said, it's been a while.
