Can you make money after registering with the ministry of labour?

Since the new "Register with the Ministry of Labour" has been introduced, can you make money like this or do you have to do something else, like go somewhere to register in San Mychuno?

Thanks, everyone, I knew about the other ways to make money without going to work but my sim is upping her well being and becoming a masseuse and was hoping I could charge my customers. Is there any way to do that in that area?
