Canoe fishing

I have several sailing enthusiasts and played my fair share with canoes, but I never paid attention to the actual game mechanics enough, so I have to ask: Are there benefits to fishing from the canoe compared to fishing at the fishing spots? Better fish in deep water, maybe? Asking because I'm about to start two castaway households with a tight budget and wondering whether the canoe is a good investment.

    Good question. The canoe has other features as well, you can fall asleep, and I forgot what else, but I think it is kind of fun watching your sim fish in them. There are also fish traps that you can buy and bait, and come back to them in a couple days. If you have a house on a pier you can also climb the later down to your boat.
