Okay, trying to change something on the back end, I noticed that I can no longer access the 'gameplay' menu in Game Options. I tried turning online options back on, and running the game as Administrator, but neither worked. And after that bit of nothing, I'm all out of ideas.Anyone know what I did wrong?

I found out that it was one mod that messed everything thing up. It took me a while to find the specific mod, but my game works now. I hope this works for you guys

Hello.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

If that doesn't help, go to documents -electronic arts-sims 4 folder and move your options.ini file to the desktop. Start the game, and a new file will be generated. See if you can access the settings now. You will also need to reset all your other settings too.

Sadly, neither worked. Then I tried restoring defaults, but that didn't work either. And now there's no way for me to change aging back to active household only. :/

I am sorry that you are having these issues.

Shut down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then launch the game and see if that helps.

Remove any cc/mods that you have and see if that helps.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Start a new game and test to see if you can enter into gameplay options. Exit the game and then add back the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated folders with the old folders, testing after replacing each one to see how the game is working.

Update, neither of those did the trick either. I'm beginning to think a full uninstall/reinstall is the only option. It's weird though, I just can't fathom why that menu should suddenly be greyed out.
