Can't go to Uni classes - Is this happening to anyone else?

So, it appears that something in Growing Together (or maybe High School Years - I haven't done Uni in a while) broke the UI with respect to Uni. I never have my Sims stay in the dorms; I always live at home, and just rabbithole them to classes, because then I can run the rest of the family that I'm playing at that time. (I hate going away from a lot, then coming back to find that the rest of the family has twiddled their thumbs and allowed all of their needs to tank.)

This is what I see when I first enroll.

And this is what I see when it's time for a class:

As you can see, there are two issues. The first is that there's no way to know WHICH class is at each day and time. That's something that's always been important for me to know, because then I can prioritize what studying my Sims do first.

Second, there is no actual button to click to send my Sim to class, and she doesn't head there automatically. I've tried clicking the Sim to see if there's something I can select that way, but nope, at least nothing that I recognize.

This is without mods, btw; I was playing with mods, so I took them out, went back to a save from before I had her enroll, and tried again.

I'm just curious if anyone else has encountered this. I didn't see any bug reports on the EA help site, and I'd think if others were seeing it, it would be posted there. Surely I'm not the only person who likes sending my Sims to Uni?
  • Did you clear your cache files? Might still have pieces of those mods floating about. My Uni is fine, and I play with (updated) mods.
  • Ah, I see what it was. It was the first (and only) mod I ever installed using CurseForge. It created a directory separate from the Mods directory called "mod_data". When I removed my mods folder, I didn't notice that folder, because I wasn't expecting to see it. Once I removed that folder, everything went to normal.

Guess I'll avoid CurseForge. I downloaded that mod as a sort of experiment, and I think I'll stay away from it. I trust about a dozen modders, and generally stick to them; I'll continue to stick to those (as they update), and stay away from modders on CurseForge.
  • You can download from the Curseforge site, without using the app - some of the modders will direct you there now. It's in a normal zip file, and is handled like any other download vs how the app does things.
  • No, this one actually created a new directory in my Sims 4 directory. There was even a readme in the folder the mod installed to, that mentioned it. I just hadn't thought to look at it again when I was removing my mods folder. The readme also mentioned that there are other creators on Curseforge that do the same thing, creating separate folders outside of your mods folder. It is NOT normal for a normal zip file to create a new directory to your Sims 4 folder, outside of the mods folder, and this one did.

This was a mod creator I'd never heard of, but none of the modders I follow have updated their version of that mod yet. I often look at mods through S4S; this particular mod changes a large number of XMLs, and I suspect all of those XMLs have changed with the infant patch, so it's probably pretty time-consuming to update. I'm guessing that the one I downloaded has NOT been updated yet, despite having been uploaded to CurseForge after the patch had been released.
