I had the same problem but I figured out a workaround. The sprinkler considers any room (not outside) I wanted my greenhouse to look more natural and thought removing the floor would work. I removed the door, then deleted two wall panels where the door should be. If the walls are not connecting it doesn't consider it a room. You should be able to place it after doing so. I thought about doing that myself, but wanted to keep the room for the glass roof. But since you said it worked for you I think I'll just give this method a go anyway since it seems the easiest :D
