Cheat for turning HH members into NPCS? //TS4\\

By NPCs, do you mean sims with specific jobs like gardener, repair person, etc? I am not sure how to do that, but you can make any member of a household an NPC by moving them out and then marking them unplayed in Manage Households.

In many cases, when I have done that, they do occasionally turn up in one of the NPC job roles.

I think you can add service jobs as traits. I know I created my own nanny, love guru, maid, gardener and handyman in my most recent save and they've all showed up like they are supposed to. I have the cheats saved on my computer at home so I can't access them at the moment. I'll check when I get home if no one else has them.

I didn't realize you could set Sims you make as I played households.

I know when you have playable households they won't get married or have kids outside of your control. Will "unplayed" sims make decisions like this without you?

I know what you're talking about from TS3--the sims are still in your household, but they aren't playable and just go about their own lives--but I haven't been able to find a way to do it so far, other than just not clicking on those members of the household.

I assume so, but then again I haven't looked into it too much. But I assume so, in TS3 I've had households that I haven't played have children without me. But in The Sims 4 I'm not quite so sure yet, I'll look into it.

Unplayed Sims in other households won't have much story progression in vanilla game, except for skills and friends they make when they are out and about in an active neighborhood where your played Sims sees them. MC Command Center Mod gets unplayed Sims married, moves them, has them have offspring, and some other autonomous mature stuff with another module.

No, we can't have NPC housemates, there is no cheat. The only way to do it is to add them, then not play them. :)

The service Sims have hidden traits, that can be input in the cheat window. Something like, is_nanny, etc, but I know it's not quite that simple. There's a thread about all the hidden, non reward traits, somewhere around here. I'll hunt it up.

Hmm, I can't find it. @LeGardePourpre, did you once have a thread that listed all the hidden trait cheat inputs? I seem to remember one, but I could be dreaming. :p

Right, and thanks for the reply. My question was about the hidden trait cheat inputs.

For instance, if you want a certain Sim to be a Nanny. Could you load up that Sim, input a trait code for Nanny into the cheat window? Then save the Sim, mark he or she as Unplayed by deselecting the Plumbob, as you have shown. Then would they most likely show up when you hire a Nanny?

This Hidden Trait List I'm talking about had the code for right- or left-handed Sims, being a Mail Carrier, being a "Weirdo" (oddly dressed Sims in Animal Suits, etc) in City Living, being able to start fires, etc, etc. There can be all kinds of fascinating traits that show up when you use the Sim Info Mod for a particular Sim. But someone had listed them all in one place. I thought it was your thread, but I apologize if I'm bugging you for no reason. :)

Wait, wait, is that a mod? Because if it isn't, then I have been under a rock for three years! :o Also, @SimplyRoyal, I've wanted to do this, too. I'd say the closest way of doing this is to have your sim (which must be be living alone) invite those you want as his/her housemates on vacation. That way it'd be like having NCPs as uncontrollable household members. I'm not sure if you'd want to do that though, haha.
