I would love advice for ways to increase Empathy. I have been using this pack since Parenthood released, but the only reliable way I've found to increase this value is by playing with the doctor kit, which I don't necessarily always want to do. Sometimes having the child "ask about day" works, but not consistently. In all these years, I've never seen Empathy increase from any other interactions.

I believe volunteering increases Empathy. Child sims don't have the option to select volunteer so have your teen or adult sim select it on the computer under Household, them Volunteer Activities. You'll be able to select the child. You can also volunteer as a family.
Calming down angry sims and cheering up sad sims also seem to help, as do comforting other sims and inquiring about their feelings.

simgirl1010 Ah, this makes so much sense! I've seen volunteering mentioned in Formative Moments but didn't understand what it meant. It's from Parenthood! (I don't have Parenthood.)
