- atreya33Seasoned AceIt is a sad yet normal part of life. I try to avoid accidental deaths. Only when I play with aging on or have a particular story in my mind, my sims can meet the grim reaper.

How do you feel about the demise of your sims?
How do I feel about it…
Good question. I suppose all options apply depending on what the state of “death” means in relation to each individual sim or narrative.
Sometimes I have to let a sim pass on in order to continue the story with them. In my game death is never really the end and although Grim may reap a sim’s soul I will always place the urn (of a played sim) in my active sim’s personal inventory. It gives me a chance to think about what to do next. There’s a potential to have them resurrected if that’s what needs to be done. If letting go is more important, I will dedicate a grave to them in the garden of the house or in a graveyard.
By default I play with aging off for all sims since I don’t want the game to dictate when the next birthday is or when the end is nigh. When I reach a turning point in the story, I may turn aging on for all npcs and slowly age up my own sims. Then I turn aging off again and continue with the next act.
I do care for my story characters and I don’t find killing them intentionally a “fun” thing to do.
However, sometimes I feel a little wilder and crazier than usual. In those cases I’d install the Zombie Apocalypse mod and turn many npcs into zombies. I don’t like zombies - at all - so it gives me perfect reason to form a zombie hunter squad and destroy all the undead with grenades and shotguns. The absolute mayhem is good fun and it helps me cope with stress. ? - kukkahillaSeasoned HotshotWhen I let my sims go it's most of the time because they have reached the end of their story, I have nothing to give them anymore and I don't want to have them around any longer. At that point it just feels like a natural ending. It can be a bit sad if the sim is dear to me, but it can also be fun if it's a sim I'm not fond of and I have planned to kill them in a certain way o:)
- I play legacies and i only play one household. Some of my sims leave the house and are left on the hands of story progression, while others stay in the house. Death isn't just part of cycle, it's also needed or my house can get pretty full... and i also get bored of playing the same sims for a long time...

I spend a lot of time creating my sims, developing their characters and building their homes. I'll even edit community lots to try and give my sims plenty of things to do in the world they reside in, so I'd rather they didn't die.
I always have aging turned off, and since I started playing a rotational save, it's actually nice to see some of my sims just walking by, or hanging out at a community lot.
same.- for me drama for my sims is fun seeing how they react to things sometimes in ways I was not expecting is what makes
this game for me. - It really depends. I usually play with aging off, but I do age my Sims at my own pace that way. That includes death, though it somewhat rare for me to kill them off.
On the off chance it was an undesired death, frustrated. A planned and progressed one, like I finished a book. All sorts of other emotions can tinge it, too, but generally speaking it depends on the circumstances. - JanuaryGarnet08New SpectatorI doesn’t bother me at all. When it happens it’s an opportunity to switch up the story. I just chuck them into someone’s inventory haul them to one of my cemeteries, plant them and move on. Sometimes they die on their own and other times I help >:).
