Did Anyone Else Have to Update Manually?

I've been playing my game most of the day. I took a small break to check the forums, since I had asked about another singer mod I could use while awaiting the one I love to be updated. Then I saw the double It's Patch Day! I also saw the Twitter from the Sims' Community that it was no joke. I'm guessing that there is a patch, but the joke was in finding it! Clever, EA. Very, very clever.

I clicked on my game cover in the Library in Origin and selected update. It did something, but I noticed the wording was updating game files. If that's always been the wording, I've never noticed it before. LOL (Wouldn't be the first time.)

At any rate, I do hope I'm all patched up for the moment. I have to admit it's been making me nervous. I have a tendency to save after my Sims have done something by way of progress, be it in a skill, or work, or whatnot.

If this truly is a Code:0 fix, then I thank you so much, EA. And I'll take it and the MWS fix as an early birthday present. :)

I had to update manually, but that's because I have Origin set to not do automatic updates. I always have to update manually.

Oh, okay, that explains a lot. I have mine in the off position, too. I've seen before where it states update available on the cover of the game, though. This is what threw me.

That is a good point. The big orange button for "Update Now" did not appear for me either and it normally does, I had to click the gear icon and select it from that menu.

I assumed it was just because Origin hadn't refreshed yet.

Or, like I said, that was the April Fool's joke. ;)

Mine popped up and said there was an update when I started my game. I have automatic updates turned on, and had to click to update, too.

I just now launched the game for the first time all day and no update. I had one yesterday, but nothing today. It's not indicating there is any update ready to install. Nothing.

Two updates in two days? Must be a new boss in the code department.

I always have to exit Origin and restart it to get the patches and updates and any new stuff to buy.

at Steam, me almosty always, as update is scheduled to 1 day after release

Did you go into My Library on Origin? Right-click the cover for Sims4 and select update. It will take it from there. That's how I found it. As I stated to another player, I think that was the April Fool's joke. Hiding it the way they did. ;)
