This is true. Still, I wish that they would have allotted a 'slot' in the Festival rotation to allow players to create a festival of their own in that central area of each neighborhood.
For example, since the launch of an event calendar, I would have loved the opportunity to create a Children's Festival with fireworks, contests, and games. ::sigh:: That's just a dream of mine, I guess. I know that that there's a snowball's chance in a Hades of ever seeing it happen.
@JoAnne65, whether or not you can still enjoy Seasons without all of the other packs is something that you'll really have to consider. If the lack of fireworks really bothers you (and I completely agree with the reasons why), Seasons may well be a problem for you.
In making your decision, a good place to start is the pinned thread in the expansion forum: "Things you've discovered in Seasons". It's a really long thread. However, it gives a decent run down of all of the features and surprises in the pack. It might help you decide if Seasons is enough for you by itself?
The fireworks I actually have (CL) but no spooky stuff, no backyard stuff and what else you might need. It might be hard to figure out if it’s worth it by reading people’s experiences (I have two good sources for that already by the way, two simmers who own and play the pack and share their experiences with me so I’ll ask them this too), because it’s hard sometimes when you play the game to figure out what comes from which pack. That’s my own experience with Sims 3 anyway ;) But I’ll check out the thread you mention, thanks :)
