in my honest opinion IPS is greatest for artists, movie editors, etc. They are really good if you're working in media and IPS monitors are fantastic at working with artists, graphic designers, anything artsy fartsy. They are typically slower, gaming quality refresh rates are rare with IPS. But it has the best viewing angles and best color, more expensive and best used for professional artists.
TN is usually the fastest, highest refresh rates, minimal motion blur, low input lag, has the worst viewing angles(but I don't know anyone who lays under their monitor to play the sims just sayin') worst color, it's cheaper, and it's used by professional/competitive gamers.
SO really unless your a profession artist/graphic designer or you really just want your screenshots or other photos just POP when you show them off on your monitor it's more cost effective to get a TN.
