Personality? Or do you have certain outfits you like to use on all of your sims? I used to stick with certain outfits from TS2 and TS3 more than I chose outfits to fit their personality. There used to be some sweaters from sims 2 that I would put on all of my sims for the cold weather. They were preppy looking. There was an orange with a navy and white stripe just around the chest area. I would dress my female sims in khaki capris and a long sleeve untucked shirt for around the house. in Sims4, I try to make the outfit appropriate to that sim. I made a Penelope Garcia (character from Criminal Minds) wardrobe more fun and colorful like her on the show. She is the hacker/tech guru. I've played that sim for the past two weeks so I can take her to the limit in her career. She already maxed out her programming skill.sorry to get off track! Currently, I'm playing a legacy save, where I'm playing all of the descendants born from a single sim I created. I have played them more than I have ever played any other sim I have created. So much more, in fact, that I made it to generation 4, something I have never done before.

I dress them based on colour, with the assumption that is their favourite colour. I try to dress them according to their personality, but i ended up dress them based on my personality instead.... :| The longest I played The Sims so far is up to the 3rd generations. Now, I started a new legacy where I randomised the traits, aspirations and careers (which is something that I never done before). Not only for the Sims, but the lot traits are being randomised as well. So, I set certain rules and created a spreadsheet for this legacy. I hope that this legacy will last longer. For the time being, the founder couple (normal Sims) has a twin. One of the twins is a vampire. I look forward to see who will be the heir. I might create a poll and let the community decide for the next heir.

I might relax that a bit for the non-heirs in the future and just make them wear one item that reflects their house per outfit.

And when we got the recent patch, he got a new hairstyle for his party outfit:He dropped out of school and worked part time in retail while working on his music -- he and Nicky just aged up to YA so he's now in the Entertainer career while Nicky's a food critic.

I have always tried to dress my sims based on their personalities, but even then I find that I end up using the same outfit combinations, so I've been trying harder to not use the outfit categories and make my own for my sims, as that forces me to actually go through and look at the clothing I have to choose from.

I dress them according to personality, for sure! Like if they're the athletic type, t-shirts, polos, hoodies, athletic shoes, nerdy, preppy clothes like sweaters / button ups, more conservative clothing for more conservative sims / more provocative clothing for more um, not-so-conservative sims. Lol. I also usually have a specific color in mind that I decide is their favorite color (my first sims game was Sims 3 so I can't get the idea of a favorite color out of my mind lol), and dress them in that color, or at least make most of their outfits that color (when possible). I usually play with a full house / big family, so this helps in distinguishing my sims from each other and helps me feel more attached to them as characters, as well as helping to in my mind coming up with stories of what's happening with them based on their personalities, and helps keep things fresh in my opinion.

I dress them according to the personality I picture them having, as well as certain colors being part of their style. I've been trying to do this since the first Sims game. I tend to play with expansive neighborhoods telling the stories for my sims so many sims with different personalities is key.
