Do you enjoy seeing random outfits on your sims?
This topic is not referring to randomly generated townies or their outfits. Those outfits are different than what I'm talking about below.
I'm sure we have all gone through the annoyance of painstakingly customizing our sims' clothing, just to see them walk around town wearing gorgeous ensembles like the one pictured below.

Interesting. But more interesting yet, when you take the sim into CAS, this ridiculous outfit isn't there! They've only got the outfits they're supposed to have. So what is the story behind this type of outfit appearing on our sims?
Well, this is more than just another case of the randomly generated fashion that we all have all gotten used to by now. This type of outfit is called a "Situation" outfit. There are many situation outfits in the game for different occassions. Butlers wear a situation outfit all the time (their uniform), and other NPC's wear them as they work (such as gardeners, mailmen, bartenders, etc). Situation outfits also get used for City Living festivals.
Modders have told us in the past that there is no way to edit these situation outfits, because we cannot see them. They don't exist anywhere. The only possibility is to remove them with mods. One issue is that, there is no mod currently which does this (to a significant extent). MCCC is capable of replacing some of them, but nowhere near all. There are some mods which remove the outfit for service sims, but none that stop the above scenario.
The type of outfit pictured above is indeed a randomly put together "Situation" outfit that seems to get assigned to some sims who walk through the neighborhoods (The fact that half of them wear Turbans makes me think it's a San Myshuno situation, but I haven't tested that). But what I could not understand is why? I can understand why the butler needs a situation outfit. I can understand why maids and gardeners and bartenders need situation outfits. But why do people just walking by need situation outfits? Why can't they just be allowed to wear their normal outfits?
This has been happening for a long time now, and the developers obviously do not consider it an issue. I very much struggled to come up with a reason as to why. Why does there need to be a situation outfit for sims walking around town? The only thing I could come up with is that maybe it's a joke. Maybe there are people who honestly enjoy seeing these outfits and that's why they have added them. So I wanted to ask, are there any of you who truly enjoy seeing these outfits on your sim after you spent time to dress them properly?
