- cyncie3 years agoSeasoned AceI have had sims who seem drawn to each other, either romantically or as friends. One of my sims had a romance with another one that came about because they always seemed to find each other and were always flirting. Another developed a best buddy friendship with a sim that I didn’t set up. I know this game isn’t supposed to have an attraction system, but I have had it occur, occasionally.
- That sure sounds like it's meant to be. I have one couple that fits that description in the save in my signature. They met and things went from 0-100 in no time, and their love is still as electric as ever.
- Nope. I've had some randomly flirt and mess things up because of TV, random trait emotions, lot traits, etc. Pretty well anytime they feel flirty it can be a problem. However, nothing that made them seem anything more than malfunctioning pixels. I fix it and move on.
Maybe because I rarely do out of household interactions, especially unplanned, I don't see any persistence. They never see the same people unless they live together! - Yep I've had at least one if not two. The second I've not played with as much but the first couple only stop talking to each other of they're sleeping or at work it seems. They constantly talk to just each other and rarely to other sims and they flirt non stop. He was actually the bachelor for a bachelor challenge and she wasn't a "contestant" but they met and that was that. Couldn't fight it.
- Well in one of my Big Brother challenges, there were these two contestants who were just talking to each other autonomously and rarely to the other contestants. This happened everyday. I made them flirt with each other after a Sim-week or so (coz I think sims won't autonomously flirt with someone for the first time but they can after that).
They didn't last long in the competition coz they ended up getting evicted after the other contestants nominated them for elimination later on (They nominated based on their relationship level lol). - Kimmer_one3 years agoSeasoned AceMy first male couple Dahl and Christian were so into each other there was no way of keeping them apart.
I started playing them 2015 when Get to Work came out and I made Dahl an alien detective. Christian isn't my Sim, I downloaded him from the gallery and he's a doctor. I also added a sister for Christian so I could have also a scientist. They all lived together as roommates.
I wanted Dahl & Christian to have families and added some girlfriend candidates for them in the world, but they were not interested of the women. They were obviously in love with each other and ignored all the ladies. They simply made it clear for me that they only wanted each other and no one else.Spoiler
This screenshot is from 2015 and this was what I had to deal with all the time when they were together. They even forgot to eat their breakfast, they were too lost in each others eyes. ;)

Now they're adults, married, have two children and are as happy as can be. <3

I guess opposite attract. - VWoodsong3 years agoSeasoned AceI've had that happen a number of times. My current favorite is between two childhood friends who were estranged because of certain secrets and lies (the elder boy, a teen at the time, was forced to completely break off contact with the other without the other's knowledge of the true reasons). So for many years the elder one went on with his life while the younger harbored deep resentment and after he grew up he eventually decided to track down his ex best friend, to at least learn if all the things he'd since learned about the "truth" were indeed true, and to exact revenge if what he'd learned was just more lies.
I played the early part of their friendship (up to the estrangement) in one save, then I played their subsequent time in two different saves so that they'd never meet accidentally until I was ready to bring the two together and see what would happen (if anything). When I finally did put them in the same save, I didn't even have time to set up a meeting. I took the resentful one out to a nightclub for his first public appearance, and to my surprise, his old friend showed up (yep, the one whom he bitterly hated for many years and currently viewed with caution and mistrust). It was a surprise because that sim rarely went out to clubs when I wasn't playing him, but there he was. They met autonomously on the dance floor, supposedly with at least one of them not recognizing the other (when they'd parted, the resentful one was still a pre-teen and had changed much since then).
In a most serendipitous turn of events, they seemed genuinely drawn to each other (I interpreted it storywise as recognition on a deeper level even if it hadn't yet reached the "Aha!" moment) yet at the same time cautious (they were literally still strangers in that save, but because of their past story it felt like caution). I let the "new" friendship develop slowly, in whatever direction it would take, and found it very satisfying to see them have disagreements as well as share laughter over things they found in common. It was a perfect resolution to their early history. I thought. But then they fell in love. :open_mouth: I hadn't considered that. But it happened after they learned the truth about each other and had made their own kind of peace, and because of that, it felt like it was "meant to be." If it had happened before they got to that point in their story I'd probably have re-directed them to other things.
Anyway, they autonomously decided to get married, and have since done so, which may well serve as a safe harbor for the storms that arrived in their lives afterward. - MoonlightGraham3 years agoSeasoned AceI've had similar things happen. There's one Sim in my gallery that my daughter and I call "Miss Irresistible." If we placed her in a save, our main Sim was drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
In my current story save, my main character connected with another Sim very powerfully. Their friendship bars began filling up fast from their first meeting. Their romantic connection has developed more slowly, but it's definitely a thing. The fact that it's based on such a firm friendship makes me think it's destined to last. - Lolzarella3 years agoSeasoned AceI've had a quite few couples who ended up being exceptionally compatible so I do believe there's an attraction system in game already. These exceptionally compatible couples will talk to each other for hours all on their own, show affection or even woohoo of their own accord. One of my favorite couples was the lead couple from my Aliens game. They were really sweet, when the hubby came home from work he would always go right over and give his wife a kiss on the cheek. He did that all on his own, I never prompted it. I was so sorry when that game save got corrupted. I also had a vamp couple who'd spontaneously serenade each other and sing karaoke together, they were also a fav of mine.
