Most of my sims are single, or childless couples. I just can't get in to the "family" play this go round. I played that way a lot in 2, but by the time I picked up 3 in 2012, and played it, I just couldn't get in to the kids at all. And still can't.
I've barely even played toddlers for more than a day or two in S4. I hear they're great, but I still just don't like the neediness of them. My sims have better things to do.
Same with pets. I can't play a household I've added pets to for very long either. I just find it boring. Like kids.
