- HRH_Ethan8 years agoNew VeteranI have had it since it came out and my sims go on holiday there at least once a year. Not to mention I usually redo the hidden house. I am looking forward to Jungle Adventure and have to say it is the first one in a long long time that I have been. My next biggie is Seasons, then it won't much matter to me what they bring out after that. What would be nice is a free pack again, we haven't had one of those in forever!
- I'm looking forward to this one too. I haven't used hardly any of the new content that's come out in the past year because it's not how I play. But this is!
After going through the recipes it looks like there is a few that will come in handy on the trips to SD.
Insect Liniment
Deodorizing Cream
Soothing Skin Balm
De-stressing Concoction
Tummy Therapy
and maybe Clear Mind Distillation will help with focusing when figuring out the traps and things.
Oddly enough, those ones don't use many of the insects that you collect. Of them all, the only ones needed are the termites for tummy therapy, the locust for the skin balm, and the walking stick for De-stressing. - I have it and I love it. I don't often send my sims camping but I use the build buy objects a lot because it fits the more rustic aesthetic I like and I find they work well for rags-to-riches challenges. I also really like the CAS items and the skill/aspiration are fun too if you have the right sim for it. All in all I find it an enjoyable Game Pack though it definitely suffers from being the first GP we had.
Those potions might not use as bugs but I believe they do all use the plants that came with Outdoor Retreat that you can only find in Granite Falls. - Yep. They use a lot of the plants. It's just good to know that if I run out of those few bugs that's all I have to look for when I need to replenish my stock of them. The plants can be grown at home so no problem there.
- ChampandGirlie8 years agoSeasoned AceI have it but I haven't really done anything with the herbalism skill. This will be a motivator for that.
I'll still send some sims on quieter vacations to Granite Falls, but I'm really looking forward to Selvadorada. There's much more to do and more culture. - Lonewolf10448 years agoSeasoned AceI own it but do not like it but being the collector I am I still brought it.
- I have it, but since no one can live there, I don't use it much.
- 5782341b77vl8 years agoSeasoned AceI own it since it was new, but I've only sent my Sims to Granite Falls (maybe) three times... EVER!
I've had a glitch with fires coming out of the fire pit and not being able to extinguish it. After the third time, I stopped going to Granite Falls - never bought a fire pit - and just live in fear that my Sim is going to have a fire and not be able to put it out! :/
It's a shame, since I liked the idea of camping trips (3 days MAX). I love the tomb raiding >:) - uh I mean - archeologist :innocent: aspect of the pack. I pray I don't have any issues with JA like I did with those fire pits in OR :disappointed: - ohcee8 years agoNew ScoutI own it but I hardly ever send my Sims there. I will have to go there so I can level up my herbalism skill!
- Yes - my sims go camping a lot - but keep in mind it has been the only vacation spot we have - and I like to take my sims everywhere I can go.
One good use I have for OR is I fill my sims inventory with skill books (skill items too) after I get them the speed reading perk - and then send them on vacation for a week - so they can do nothing but work on skills. I don't like to cheat up sims so I take advantage of just perks and escape from the normal life. So OR has worked out well for my sims thus far in what it offers is mostly solitude and of course the collectibles there.
